Faith That Overcomes

Reading 1 John 5:1-5 and Romans 4:1-21, it argues that faith is far more than asking and receiving: it is a walk with God, shown in honouring, reverencing and obeying a God we cannot see, even refusing to do wrong when no one else is watching. Drawing on Hebrews 11:6, Pastor Afuape stresses coming from ‘the place of knowing’ that God is ever present. Because the devil will raise resistance, faith is tied to victory, and what matters is how believers respond in seasons of waiting. Citing Isaiah 28:16, Job 13 and Matthew 7:7-8, and sharing personal testimonies about a threatened job loss and a visa interview, he urged the congregation to cast their cares on God, hold their peace and keep praising Him.
