Divine Presence, Nearness and Intimacy
From Exodus 33, where Moses refused to go on unless God’s presence went with them, this message explores divine presence, nearness and intimacy. The longing for God is placed in every heart (Acts 17), and God’s presence has been revealed from Eden to the tabernacle, the temple, Jesus, and now the Holy Spirit living in believers (John 14). Like husband and wife, we can sit close to God while our hearts are far away. Four rewards flow from true intimacy with Him: power over the enemy, protection under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91), provision, and a peace the world cannot give.
