Created for Signs and Wonders
Opening September, the month of signs, wonders and miracles, this message from Isaiah 8:18 (‘I and the children the Lord has given me are for signs and wonders’) teaches that believers were created to be a wonder to many (Psalm 71:7). As God accredited Jesus with signs and wonders (Acts 2:22), He sends us in the same way (John 17:18), and ‘these signs shall follow those who believe’ (Mark 16:17). A sign is something natural law cannot explain yet no one can deny (Acts 4:16), like the parting of the Red Sea, Lazarus raised after four days, the three Hebrews in the furnace, and testimonies in the church of a deportation halted at the airport and of children born beyond medical hope. Signs are released when we speak boldly (Acts 14:3), and boldness grows from knowing God through His Word (Daniel 11:32).
