Contending for the Gates of Evangelism

In the month of bold witness, this message treats evangelism as spiritual warfare. From the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18) and the church’s prayer for boldness in Acts 4:24-30, it urges believers not just to go witnessing but to be witnesses of what they have tasted and seen (Acts 1:8; 1 John 1:1-3). The enemy’s strategy is to close the gates to sharing the gospel through restrictions, intimidation and shame, and to spoil our testimony through trials, delays and scandal, pushing us towards help that is not from God. The church is called to stand on the Word alone, to tell its own story of God’s goodness, and to refuse to be silenced, because no seed sown is wasted (Matthew 13).
