Standing in Your Generation to Fulfil God’s Purpose
Opening August, the month of generational anointing and evidence across generations, the General Overseer teaches that God is a covenant God who always has the next generation in mind: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. Like David, who ‘served his own generation by the will of God’ (Acts 13:36), each of us must serve our generation according to God’s purpose, whether in church, medicine, engineering or any other work. Every generation faces its own battles, but God raises His people as a banner to the nations (Isaiah 59:19; 11:10; 62:10). He sets out four truths: each generation has a defined purpose (Jeremiah 1:5), a specific identity to guard, as Daniel did in Babylon, a unique opportunity not to be missed, and a spiritual legacy to leave, so that no generation rises that does not know the Lord (Judges 2:10).
