Godly Wisdom for Everyday Decisions
Opening July’s month of exponential increase in wisdom, this message teaches that the monthly focus calls believers to add to what they are already doing, and that God has promised the ability to display godly wisdom in everyday life. Wisdom shows in ordinary things, from how we dress and manage our health to how we run a business, train children and handle employment, and it brings peace and contentment. Many poor decisions come from pride, wrong assumptions, bad timing and taking life for granted, so we must trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Christ Himself has become our wisdom, righteousness, holiness and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30), and divine wisdom grows through an ongoing relationship with God, asking Him for it, learning from mentors (Proverbs 11:14) and reflecting on past experience, as Solomon’s request for wisdom pleased God. It also examines what influences decisions, including anger, social media, comparison, lateness and even the temperature of a room, and urges diligence and excellence at work, so that we are employable and celebrated. It closes in prayer for godly wisdom in every area of life.
