Created for Relationship
In July’s month of exponential increase in productive relationships, this short message goes back to the beginning. From Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:7, God said ‘let us make man in our image’, the first time He spoke in the plural, showing that we were created for relationship, and He breathed His own life into man. In Genesis 3:8 God came into the garden to walk with Adam and Eve, but man broke that covenant relationship and God called a reset through Christ. Using a microphone and a mobile phone as illustrations, it explains that knowing what something is for defines it, and knowing our identity means we need not struggle with relationship. From 2 Corinthians 4:6-7, believers are earthen vessels carrying the treasure of the knowledge of God’s glory, temples meant to show the world who God is rather than ourselves; like a bulb that only shines when connected, our power lies in our connection with God. It warns against a gospel focused only on money, and calls the church to check and renew its relationship with God daily. It closes in prayer.
