He Who Walks in Integrity Walks Securely
Opening August’s month of exponential increase in integrity, this message is built on Proverbs 10:9: ‘he who walks in integrity walks securely’. In a world where lies are readily believed, integrity is the quality of being honest with strong moral principles that do not change: a moral compass people can depend on. Gifts, money and spirituality need integrity added to them, so that God can trust and depend on us and others say ‘that person cannot touch this’. A person of integrity lets yes be yes and no be no, and whatever is entrusted to them gets done. God told Abraham to walk before Him and be blameless, and Jacob the supplanter had to become Israel before the covenant could be established, because the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter (Proverbs 4:18). Joseph in Genesis 39 was trusted with everything in Potiphar’s house and refused his master’s wife even when no one would know, and Job kept his integrity when he lost everything. A cautionary investment story shows how integrity protects us. It closes with prayer for God to fill the gaps in our dependability and responsibility.
