Integrity Takes Courage: Lessons From Rahab and Esther
Preached on the Winners Conference Sunday, in August’s month of exponential increase in integrity, this message teaches that the monthly focus aims to make believers better people who enjoy fellowship with God and others, and that integrity tests our courage, motives and relationships. Integrity means doing the right thing when no one is watching and keeping promises even when inconvenient, whether in business, work or church, while a lack of it opens the door to lying (Proverbs 25:19, Matthew 6:5). From Joshua 2:1-7 it shows Rahab, who hid the spies and believed God’s promise, proving that God can use anyone regardless of their past or reputation. From Esther 4:14 it shows Esther, facing an unexpected crisis, choosing courage over silence, knowing that if she refused God would raise deliverance from elsewhere. Both women acted with faith, discretion and responsibility, and both are reminders that everyone is built for greatness when courage and boldness are joined to faith. Practical counsel follows about choosing the right friends and advisers and taking godly risks. It closes with prayer for grace and courage to act rightly.
