Living a Life of Integrity From the Heart
In August’s month of exponential increase in integrity, this short message describes integrity as a life of honesty and a mind free from deception, which flows from the heart, because the heart determines what the mind processes. Choosing integrity affects every relationship positively, with spouse, children, family and workplace. Joseph refused Potiphar’s wife even when told no one would ever know, because he had already decided in his heart not to sin against God. Proverbs teaches that a poor man who walks in integrity is better than a rich man who is perverse, so wealth is no proof of integrity. In 1 Chronicles 29:17, David told God that he had given with an upright heart and honest intent, and rejoiced to see the people give willingly. The key is to connect the values of the heart to daily living, from how we drive to how we work, so that integrity grows day by day. Practical steps include speaking honestly in every word and confessing mistakes quickly instead of making excuses. It closes with prayer for increase in integrity.
